- March 14 – Taz's Texas Tornado opens at Six Flags AstroWorld.
April[]
- April 1 – Time Warner sells their remaining interest in Six Flags to Oklahoma-based theme park operator Premier Parks for $1.86 billion USD. As a result of the deal and the merger of Six Flags and Premier, some of Premier Parks' properties will become Six Flags parks, and will heavily feature Warner Bros. characters with multiple longtime licensing contracts.
- April 4 – The Riddler's Revenge opens at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
- April 9 – Six Flags Great Adventure opens for the 1998 season.
- April 18 – 23 riders on the Demon roller coaster at Six Flags Great America are stranded upside-down in the middle of the ride's second vertical loop. Firefighters used a cherry picker to bring riders to safety, although some were on the ride for as long as three hours. The incident was the result of a mechanical failure.
