- 22 guests riding Ninja at Six Flags Magic Mountain are stranded for over two hours after a tree branch falls onto the coaster track. Four of the 22 guests were injured, but none serious enough to require a hospital visit.
- July 20 – Cyclone closes at Six Flags New England.

- August 10 – 24 people are trapped on The Joker's Jinx at Six Flags America when the train stalls along the course due to a glitch with the ride computer. The train was upright on a curve near one of the highest points on the ride. The local fire department used cherry pickers to bring down riders one at a time. By 7 P.M. local time, all riders had been removed from the ride. No riders were injured, and all were evaluated by emergency personnel.
