ACME Rock-n-Rocket was a looping starship ride at Six Flags Over Texas, located in the USA section of the park. It was themed after Looney Tunes, with the ride being based on a rocket created by Wile E. Coyote. The ride opened on June 16, 2006 as part of the 10-attraction expansion that season for the 45th Anniversary. It permanently closed on August 24, 2014 to make way for Justice League: Battle for Metropolis.
History[]
In 1989, a Looping Starship ride was purchased from Canada by Six Flags and was installed at Six Flags Over Georgia. It operated the park for nearly over 16 seasons before it was removed in 2005 to make way for Goliath.
The ride was sent to Six Flags Over Texas as part of the 10 attractions that were to be added to the park for the 2006 season. Construction of the new "ACME Rock-n-Rocket" began in early 2006. In mid-May, the main ride vehicle for the ride was installed[1], and construction was completed by late May/early June, at which point it began testing.[2] The former USA Gifts shopping location was closed and turned into the indoor queue building.[3]
ACME Rock-n-Rocket opened to the public on June 16, 2006.
The ride permanently closed on August 24, 2014 to make way for Justice League: Battle for Metropolis.
