On April 2, 2007, Big Red Planes opened as part of the all-new Wiggles World children's area. It was the only ride to have been added to the park for the new land and not rethemed from Looney Tunes Seaport.[1]
Air Safari (2011–2020)[]
In 2011, the new Safari Kids-themed children's area opened, replacing Wiggles World. As part of the new theming, the ride was renamed Air Safari.
Ride experience[]
Calling all pilots! Climb into a junior-sized plane marked “Air Safari” and watch the bright yellow propellers spin. It’s time to take flight for a soaring tour of your little wild animals’ favorite Great Adventure neighborhood, Safari Kids!
Your aviator tykes will gently rise into the sky, then control how high or low to go with the pull of a lever. Fly high through the trees, for a woodsy view, or stay low if you’re still getting your training wings.
You can fit as many as four co-pilots into each brightly-colored red propeller plane. Get ready for take-off as the propellers whirl and engines roar. As you lift off the ground, you’ll fly round and round and up and down, just like a real airplane. Choose how high or low to go, because you’ve already got your wings. Prepare for the flight of your life.
For your safety, no loose articles including cell phones are permitted on Air Safari. All loose articles must be secured in a button or zipped pocket, locker, or with a non-rider.
