Baja Ridge is a desert landscape themed area at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It is based on historic Mexican California.
History[]
When the park originally opened on May 29, 1971, the area where Baja Ridge would be was a dead end behind the Grand American Carousel at the back of Six Flags Plaza.
In April 1990, the new loop coaster Viper was opened at Baja Ridge.
In 2001, X was built in Baja Ridge as the intended new attraction for that season, but due to mechanical issues the ride's opening was delayed to January 2002. Panda Express was added as the area's restaurant at the bridge crossing.
In December 2007, X was closed for refurbishment and a new paint job, and reopened in May 2008 as X2.
In 2015, Panda Express closed and was replaced with Six Flag's in-house Chop Six brand in the following year. In 2022, Chop Six was itself replaced by Primo’s Pizzeria.
