Statement about the Six Flags-Cedar Fair merger Click here for our statement about how wiki content will change following the Six Flags-Cedar Fair merger.
The ride operated for several seasons before Six Flags sold the park to Cedar Fair in 2004, at which point it was renamed "Dominator". When Geauga Lake was permanently closed in 2007, the coaster was dismantled. It was later relocated to Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, where it opened in 2008 under the same name and continues to operate today.
On December 9, 1999, Six Flags announced that they would re-brand Geauga Lake in Aurora, Ohio as "Six Flags Ohio" for the park's 2000 season. With the announcement of the rebranding came the announcement of four new roller coasters for the park. Batman: Knight Flight would open as the only floorless coaster in the Midwest. At the time, it had the world's tallest vertical loop at 135 feet. The coaster continues to hold the record of the longest floorless coaster in the world. Batman: Knight Flight would operate at the park's new "Gotham City" section.
In 2004, Six Flags Worlds of Adventure was re-branded yet again as it reverted back to its original Geauga Lake name, and fell under amusement company Cedar Fair. Since Cedar Fair did not own the rights to DC Comics, the coaster was renamed "Dominator" and sat in the new renamed area "Power City." The Batman symbols were melted off, the "Bruce Wayne Foundation" text was removed, the Batmobile was removed from the area, Batman music was silenced and the names of buildings in the area bearing references to Gotham City were dismounted. Also, the Gotham City Theater was renamed "Midway Amphitheater".
On September 21, 2007, Cedar Fair announced that the rides side of Geauga Lake would close, and solely operate as a water park. Dominator was relocated to Kings Dominion where it was repainted with orange track and blue supports. However, the loop still retains the yellow paint. It still operates today.
