Batman: The Ride is an inverted roller coaster at Six Flags Over Texas, located in the Gotham City section of the park. It is the only roller coaster at the entire park to be built by Bolliger & Mabillard. The attraction made its debut on May 26, 1999, and is based on Batman from DC Comics.
The ride is located to the right of Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast, a shuttle launched coaster which was the first DC Comics attraction to open at the park. It is by far one of the most popular rides at Six Flags Over Texas, and as of July 2014 has given more than 17 million rides.
History[]
Six Flags Over Texas began teasing the attraction at the end of the 1998 summer season. On November 4, 1998, the park revealed more details about the new attraction. It would be a new inverted coaster named Batman: The Ride. The ride would be located towards the back of the park next to Mr. Freeze. This would create a new Gotham City section. Batman: The Ride made its debut on May 26, 1999.
In the summer of 2014, Six Flags Over Texas debuted Batman: The Ride Backwards (also known as Namtab) for the ride's 15th anniversary.[1]
The ride is scheduled to receive a paint job (and potential theming changes/enhancements) in fall of 2023.

Following a long straight section is a right turn. If guests decide to not ride the coaster, they can take the chicken exit elevator, which is on the right side. As guests exit the tunnel, they walk outside in the Alley, with a Police Car on the right. A viewing area is also located in this area, as guests can watch the trains navigate through the back of the layout. Guests go inside Wayne Industries, where an office is found straight ahead. They go past a second switchback and head to The Garden Section outside. The Batman Symbol, found on the back of the building can be seen. Guests walk straight into a tunnel with two small fans and go upstairs to the station. In the station, there is a Batcomputer, a Tesla Coil and some air vents. On the left wall, there is a chicken exit that guests can have their last chance to exit before it is too late. It is also used as The Flash Pass entrance.
