The Great Midwest Livestock Expedition and County Fair, also known as simply County Fair, is a themed area at Six Flags Great America. It is the biggest area in the park in terms of number of attractions. The area opened with Great America on May 29, 1976.
History[]
Marriott era (1976-1983)[]
On May 29, 1976, County Fair opened as one of Great America's six original themed areas. County Fair opened with five rides: Turn of the Century, a looping steel roller coaster by Arrow; Fiddler's Fling, a scrambler-style ride; the Ameri-Go-Round, a carousel for kids; and the Great America Raceway.
For the park's second season in 1977, the Hay Baler opened. This flat ride was located in a themed barn.
In 1981, American Eagle opened. This racing wooden roller coaster by Intamin was the first of its kind.
Six Flags era (1984-present)[]

For the 1997 season, Dare Devil Dive was introduced. It is a Skycoaster attraction similar to those found at many other Six Flags parks.
In 2004, Revolution opened.
In 2009, Buccaneer Battle opened. It is a pirate-themed water battle ride, where guests board pirate ships that sail through a bay.
For the 2012 season, X-Flight opened.
For the 2014 season, Goliath opened.
For the 2024 season Sky Striker opened.
For the 2025 season, Wrath of Rakshasa will open.
