Cyclone Bay was a coastal-themed area at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It opened in 1991, alongside the new Psyclone roller coaster and replacing Spillikin Handcrafters Junction (formerly Spillikin Corners).
The land was closed at the end of the 2018 season, and was replaced by The Underground, which fully opened in 2020 alongside West Coast Racers.
History[]
The Riptide Revue was a Broadway-style song-and-dance show that played in the Cyclone Bay Playhouse from 1991 to 1993.[1] The building was later used as an employee breakroom and eventually razed to make room for Slingshot, which opened in 2012.[2]
In June 2018, Six Flags Magic Mountain began work on a new project in Cyclone Bay. Then unannounced, rumors spread fast that this new project would be a complete renovation of Cyclone Bay into something else entirely. In late June, construction walls were put up on one side of the land. The games area was spared, though shops dating back to Spillikin Corners were demolished. By January 2019, the area was closed off as construction work began on West Coast Racers.[3]
