Not to be confused with DC Comics Super Heroes Adventures at Six Flags New Orleans. |
DC Super Hero Adventures was one of the themed areas at Six Flags New England. It opened in 2000. It was replaced with DC Universe.
History[]
Originally, the building which now houses Cyborg: Hyper Drive was home to a similar ride called The Joker's Wildcard; it was essentially a Chance Wipeout in the dark with Batman theming and not much of a storyline or special effects as what's there now. It was closed in 2005 due to state laws, which have since changed. A while later in 2008, the ride got moved outside. When The Joker 4D Free Fly Coaster opened in Gotham City in 2017, the Wipeout was renamed Kryptonite Kollider, which it continues to operate as.
Catwoman's Whip opened as Poison Ivy's Tangled Train. It was the first Six Flags ride to be themed to Poison Ivy. When Catwoman's Whip at Six Flags New Orleans closed, the statue of Catwoman in the center of that ride was donated to New England; they decided to retheme the coaster to Catwoman in 2007 and use the statue on that ride.
There was a HUSS Fly Away called Nightwing that eventually got replaced by The Joker's Wildcard in 2008 as it was becoming too costly to operate. The Nightwing name is now used on the Slingshot in Gotham City.
In 2018, Six Flags announced Cyborg: Hyper Drive.
The area was later closed in 2019 and replaced with DC Universe, an upgraded version.
