Not to be confused with the other loop ride of the same name at Six Flags Great Adventure.

El Diablo was a loop ride at Six Flags Over Texas, located in the Spain section of the park. It opened to the public on May 28, 2019.

The ride was originally announced as Lone Star Revolution, as it was intended to be located in the Texas section of the park, but this was changed for unknown reasons, just like The Joker at Six Flags Great Adventure.

History[]

On August 30, 2018, Six Flags announced Lone Star Revolution, the tallest loop ride in the world.[1] On January 22, 2019, Six Flags announced El Diablo, a re-imagining of the Lone Star Revolution ride.[2] The ride would be placed in the Spain area instead of the Texas area. The ride opened to the public on May 28, 2019 in the Spain section as (at the time) the world’s tallest loop coaster.

The ride was last operated on November 3, 2024. Coaster enthusiasts discussed the fate of El Diablo and La Vibora as survey markers were found, indicating that a future attraction may take their place. The Six Flags Over Texas webpages for the rides were still accessible as of November 9.[3][4] However, the ride queues were reportedly already being removed.[5]

Ride experience[]

Queue and theming[]

In the Spain area of the park, guests enter El Diablo, meaning “The Demon” or “The Devil“ in Spanish. Throughout the queue, guests encounter stone gargoyles. While in line, guests can also watch the final drop of El Asseradero, placed on the side of the ride.

Ride[]

Riders board the train in groups of four, facing each other. As the ride starts, the trains move back and forth gradually rising the loop, until the riders start doing full 360-degree revolutions, rising up to 100 feet. Finally, the trains start slowing down and the ride stops.
