European Village was a themed area at Six Flags AstroWorld, located towards the back of the park. It was based on the continent of Europe.
History[]
European Village opened on June 1, 1968 as one of the eight original themed areas of AstroWorld.
For the 1990 season, Ultra Twister was relocated from Six Flags Great Adventure.
In 1993, Batman: The Escape opened, the second-ever Batman-themed roller coaster following Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Great America the previous year. The coaster was relocated from Six Flags Great Adventure, where it had operated as Shockwave from 1990 to 1992.
On October 30, 2005, Six Flags AstroWorld permanently closed.
