Not to be confused with Xcalibur at Six Flags St. Louis.

Excalibur, originally known as Dexter Frebish's Electric Roller Ride, was a steel roller coaster that operated at Six Flags AstroWorld from 1972 to 1998. From 1972 to 1980, the ride was part of the park's Country Fair area but when Country Fair was replaced by Nottingham Village in 1981 the ride was rethemed to Excalibur.

After being removed from AstroWorld, Excalibur was relocated to Frontier City where it remained in storage for many years before ultimately being scrapped. Excalibur's trains were sent to Six Flags Over Texas.

Excalibur (1981–1998)[]

After Country Fair was given a medieval theme and was renamed Nottingham Village in 1981, the Dexter Frebish's Electric Roller Ride was repainted from its original white scheme into a brownish red and renamed "Excalibur". This name would last for 17 more years until it finally closed. The coaster was relocated to Oklahoma City's Frontier City, unfortunately during the dismantling process and travel, the coaster was damaged so it sat in Frontier City's storage for several years before being ultimately scrapped in 2005. The same year Excalibur died, its home was closed down and demolished.
