The Flag Stop was a full service gas station in the parking lot of Six Flags Over Mid-America (now Six Flags St. Louis). It was open 7 days a week during the park's operating season and generally remained open for about an hour after the park's closure each night.
The Flag Stop was an extra commodity that added to the overall feel-good experience of a day at Six Flags. If on your way home your cars suffered any problems, you would simply raise the hood of your car and the Security Department would come to your aid. In addition to gas, the station offered batteries, belts, oil, and tires.
The gas station lasted through at least the late 1980s, and in 1985 the Flag Stop was sponsored by Texaco.
