Full Throttle is a launched steel roller coaster in Full Throttle Plaza at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was manufactured by Premier Rides and opened on June 22, 2013.
The ride replaced Log Jammer, which closed in 2011.
History[]
On August 30, 2012, Six Flags Magic Mountain announced "YOLOcoaster" as the park's new attraction for the 2013 season. It would be the world's tallest and fastest looping coaster in the world, and would be located in a new 5-acre land that would be a retheme of High Sierra Territory. In Six Flags' Q3 2012 conference call, the company announced that the ride would run 2 trains with 18 riders each, and that no rides would be closed to accommodate construction.
When the 160-foot vertical loop was topped-out on April 11, 2013, it was at the time the tallest in the world.[1] To kick off the opening of the ride and area in June 2013, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation commissioned an official "Full Throttle" edition" of Live it Up by the Australian band Airbourne.[2]
In 2019, Chick-fil-A became the corporate sponsor of Full Throttle, with new advertising for the restaurant chain being displayed outside the ride's entrance in Full Throttle Plaza.[3] However, this advertising was removed by early 2020.
