For similarly-named rides at Six Flags parks, see Goliath. |
Goliath was a giant inverted boomerang roller coaster in North End at Six Flags New England. It was relocated from Six Flags Magic Mountain where it operated as Déjà Vu. It was last closed for operation after the 2019 season, and remained standing, but not operating, for all of the 2020 and 2021 seasons. It was eventually removed from the park in early 2022 and will be replaced by Quantum Accelerator for the 2025 season.
History[]
DejaVu opened at Six Flags Magic Mountain in 2001, alongside its sister counterparts from Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Over Georgia (though those two would close in 2007). In 2011, the coaster was relocated to Six Flags New England as "Goliath". Some say that this was an odd decision since the park already had a standard boomerang named Flashback, and Goliath would be built right next to it, replacing the old Shipwreck Falls log flume ride in the process. But in the coming years, the coaster became an unenjoyable ride and would close for the last time on September 5, 2019. In the following year, it was announced that the coaster would subsequently be demolished, and by 2022, the coaster was discarded into pieces, clearly revealed to have been scrapped. Funnily enough, Flashblack ended up outliving Goliath, and it still operates today.
Experience[]
In the station, there was a chicken exit for guests who were too afraid to ride the coaster.
