Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster was a thrill ride/roller coaster located in the DC Universe area at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The attraction was manufactured by Skyline Attractions and opened at the park on August 3, 2018. The attraction last operated in 2020.[1][2]

History[]

Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster was featured in the Six Flags 2018 New Attractions announcement on August 31, 2017. It was billed as the first "dual-looping" roller coaster.[3]

The ride was to open in the park in the spring of 2018 as the prototype for Skyline's Skywarp model. Vertical construction began in April 2018. The ride was originally intended to open on June 17th, but this date was missed and delayed repeatedly. Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster finally opened on August 3rd.[1] The ride used RMC Raptor track, but after building this unit, Skyline started producing their own track.

Issues and closure[]

The ride soon developed a poor reputation in the coaster community for being rough and frequently closed. The restraints were criticized for being uncomfortable, especially while passing through the two inversions of the ride. The track was also reported to be very loud as cars passed through it. A former ride operator also stated that some of the train's restraints would fail to operate properly due to rust, forcing the ride to operate at half of its normal capacity.[4]

In May 2021, the park responded to a social media inquiry by stating, "As the park's offerings evolve, this sometimes requires the closure of other attractions. Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster is no longer an operating attraction at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom." This confirmed the permanent closure of the ride after only 2 years of operation.[2][5]
