John C. Allen (May 21, 1907–August 17, 1979) was a roller coaster designer who is responsible for the revival of wooden roller coasters in the 1960s. He helped with the design of Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Over Georgia, which was the first project he helped to develop for Six Flags. It opened in 1973. Allen later returned to design Screamin' Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis, which opened in 1977. It was the last roller coaster that he designed prior to his death.
