Legacy Membership was a 4-tier membership program that served as admission for all Six Flags parks, while also including exclusive benefits for its members. Unlike Season Passes, which do not offer access to parks outside the geographical area of the pass holder's home park, legacy members have admission to all Six Flags parks.
This membership structure had an exclusive 5th tier, Diamond Elite VIP, which was only available to Diamond Elite members that had signed up for the tier prior to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. With the exception of the Diamond Elite VIP tier, all temporary bonuses for members who retained their memberships through the pandemic expired in January 2023.[1]
This type of membership is now grandfathered, as it was replaced with Annual Passes in mid-January of 2022.[2] It may not be purchased anymore and cancellation will result in permanent loss of benefits. After Annual Passes, Annual Memberships were introduced in August 2022, with simpler tiers than Legacy Membership.
Tiers and benefits[]

The first tier is the Gold Plus membership, which includes all the benefits of the Gold Season Pass, access to outdoor water-parks, a 20% discount on candy and merchandise, a 5% discount on food and drinks, and discounts on VIP tours, The Flash Pass, Dining Passes, Cabanas, entrance via a members-only entrance, and an exclusive membership card.

The second tier is the Platinum membership, which includes all Gold Plus perks, except Platinum members get a 25% discount on candy and merchandise, a 15% off discount on food and drinks, along with a Member Drink Bottle for unlimited soft drinks every visit, a one-time digital on ride photo, one-time for access Diamond Preferred Parking and a one-time skip-the-line pass. In February 2025, Six Flags began informing legacy Platinum members that the tier would be retired. Platinum members were given the option to upgrade to Diamond membership for an extra fee.[3]

The third tier is the Diamond membership, which includes all perks of the Gold Plus and Platinum tiers, except Diamond members receive a 30% off discount on candy and merchandise, a 35% off discount on food and drinks, along with free s'mores kits at Holiday in the Park events, one free Fright Fest haunted house wristband, premium show seating, Diamond Area Waterpark Access, priority waterpark entrance, two digital on-ride photos, access to Diamond Preferred Parking every visit (reservations required) and the ability to skip the line of a major ride once every visit.

The fourth tier is the Diamond Elite membership, which includes all the perks of the 3 previously stated tiers, but Diamond Elite members receive a 50% discount on candy, merchandise and food and drinks, along with the ability to skip the line of a major ride twice per visit, double rides on a upcharge attraction, and Diamond Elite upgrades every visit, such as The Flash Pass.[4]

The fifth tier, which cannot be purchased in any way, the Diamond Elite VIP membership, includes all perks of all 4 tiers, but includes 1,000 extra bonus Membership Rewards points, one Golden Friend Ticket every year and the ability to skip the lines on four major ride lines. The tier is only available for guests who were Diamond Elite members before a park reopening in 2021.
Membership Rewards[]
Membership Rewards was a loyalty rewards program for redeeming points in exchange for in-park experiences, such as free admission to up-charge attractions, free ICEE slushies and more. Members needed to be 13 or older to participate in the rewards program.
How to get points[]
Action | Point amount |
---|---|
Visit Home Park | 50 points |
Visit Distant Park | 100 points |
Checking into a Ride | 3 points |
Checking into a Show | 6 points |
Bought Something | 25 points per dollar |
Giving Feedback | 500 points |
Members could get points through simple activities, such as checking-in at rides, shows, buying food and merchandise and visiting the park. These points could be accessed and redeemed through the Six Flags Membership website or the Six Flags app.
Benefit changes[]
Starting in March 2025, Six Flags suspended the Member Rewards points system and substituted a set number of free Bring-a-Friend daily tickets that could be used anytime by members and passholders, depending how long the membership was held.[5] In the instance when a theme park is closed permanently (such as Six Flags America at the end of the 2025 season), Six Flags management so far has declined to reassign the home park of affected members.[6]
