Los Festivales is the Mexican-themed hub area of Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It opened with the park in 1992.
The area is dedicated to Hispanic culture, and its impact on the city of San Antonio, Texas and the music scene.
History[]
In 1999, Boomerang: Coast to Coaster opened in Los Festivales. Fiesta Texas was just one of several Premier Parks-owned properties to have received a Vekoma Boomerang under the same name. The same ride had been added to Darien Lake and Marine World in 1998, both of which wouldn't be officially branded Six Flags parks under Premier until the following year. Six Flags Elitch Gardens in Denver also received a Boomerang: Coast to Coaster in 1999.
After the permanent closure of Six Flags New Orleans due to extensive damage by Hurricane Katrina, Six Flags was allowed to salvage and relocate some of the park's attractions for use at other parks. One of these was Batman: The Ride, which had opened at SFNO in 2003 as the key attraction in the new DC Comics Super Heroes Adventures area as part of the park's transition from Jazzland (which opened in 2000) to Six Flags New Orleans. Batman: The Ride was relocated to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, where it was to be known as Goliath. Instead of keeping the Batman theme, Six Flags adapted and rethemed the attraction to fit within Los Festivales and its Hispanic theming.
On March 7, 2020, the new Latin dance show !Fuego¡ debuted in the Teatro Fiesta. However, it was closed along with the park not too long after its debut due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
