History[]
Mardi Gras opened at Six Flags Great America in 2004.
In 2013, Ragin' Cajun was removed. The ride's queue building was used as the entrance for the final year of Necropolis during Fright Fest 2013.
In 2016, the street show Party Gras debuted in the area, near Ragin' Cajun's old queue line. The Jester's Wild Ride was removed to make way for The Joker, along with moving the Mardi Gras tunnel entrance.
In 2017, King Chaos was removed to make way for Mardi Gras Hangover, a Larson Super Loop, marketed as a "loop coaster".
On May 26, 2018, Mardi Gras Hangover opened to the public. It closed after five years of operation on October 29, 2023.
Theme[]
One of the park's newest themed areas, Mardi Gras opened in 2004, after being converted from part of Orleans Place. The area's theme comes from the Mardi Gras holiday, and specifically the famous celebration of the holiday in New Orleans, Lousiana. Mardi Gras is connected to both DC Universe and Orleans Place.
