This article is about the ride at Six Flags Great America. For more uses of Mardi Gras, see Mardi Gras (disambiguation). |
Mardi Gras Hangover was a Larson Super Loop (marketed as a "loop coaster") at Six Flags Great America, located in the Mardi Gras section of the park. It was a 100-foot tall looping flat ride, which was the largest of its kind in the world.
History[]
Mardi Gras Hangover opened on May 26, 2018, replacing King Chaos.
The ride was first announced on August 31, 2017, as the "world's largest loop coaster", then Mardi Gras Hangover was announced as the official name in February 2018.
Since May 27, 2023, the ride was closed. The ride reopened for Fright Fest. On October 23, 2023, the park announced that the ride would be removed at the end of the season.[1] It closed permanently on October 29, 2023.
Trivia[]
- According to YouTuber and former ride-op "sfgamfan" from a deleted video, the ride was originally to be named Hurricane Force 5, before the name was changed out of insensitivity.
- Although Mardi Gras Hangover was marketed as a "loop coaster", it was not a roller coaster because it didn't "coast".
