Mind Eraser opened on May 10, 1996, shortly after Premier Parks acquired Funtime Incorporated, the owners of Geauga Lake at the time. The ride would retain the same name and blue and gray paint scheme through the Six Flags era.
When Cedar Fair purchased Six Flags Worlds of Adventure in 2004, it was renamed to Head Spin. On September 21, 2007, Cedar Fair announced that Geauga Lake & Wildwater Kingdom would no longer operate as an amusement park, and instead become solely a waterpark, Wildwater Kingdom.
The ride was then moved to Carowinds, which was also owned by Cedar Fair after their acquisition of Paramount Parks. It reopened on March 28, 2009 as Carolina Cobra. The ride featured pink track and blue supports, before being renamed to The Flying Cobras in 2017 in a County Fair expansion. It was repainted with blue track and white supports, featuring painted stunt plane style cars.
