Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall opened to the public on May 9, 1997 while the park was Geauga Lake. Three years later, Geauga Lake became Six Flags Ohio in 2000. A year after that, Six Flags Ohio was changed to Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.
In 2004, Six Flags Worlds of Adventure was sold to Cedar Fair, which caused major changes, including renaming some of the roller coasters, demolishing the Wild Life section, changing the name to Geauga Lake and adding the Peanuts characters.
During the 2005/2006 off-season, Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall was demolished, due to Geauga Lake becoming a small family park. The parts would be salvaged and used for Demon Drop at Cedar Point. In addition, the Halloween Haunt event was discontinued. The operating schedule was changed from May to September operations.
On September 21, 2007, Cedar Fair announced that Geauga Lake would be a waterpark only, meaning that the amusement park would close forever.
