The Oil Derrick is a 300-foot observation tower located in the Tower Section area of Six Flags Over Texas.
History[]
Oil Derrick was built by Intamin and opened at Six Flags Over Texas on May 24, 1969. It has two observation decks, at 255 and 267 feet above ground level. From 1969 to 1975, there was a 12-lane slide from a 47-foot high deck.[1]
