On August 18, 2016, before the closure of Vortex, the park announced plans to transform Vortex into Patriot. During the transformation, the ride would receive a new blue and white color scheme and floorless trains from B&M. Passholder Previews were held on March 31, 2017 while the ride opened to the public on April 1, 2017. To celebrate the opening, military veterans past and active could visit the park for free during Memorial Day weekend and bring up-to six guests receiving discounted tickets with them.
Experience[]
After traveling up the 91-foot lift hill, the train takes a left drop turn into the vertical loop. Riders then travel through a left turnaround followed by another left turnaround that goes through the loop. Before heading into the final break run, the train goes through a corkscrew and into a left turnaround.
