Riverview Racer was a swing ride at Six Flags St. Louis, located in the Illinois section of the park. It was named after Riverside Park, a defunct amusement park that once operated in Chicago from 1904 to 1967.
The ride originally opened in the England section in 1983, where it was known as Aero Flyer. It was then relocated to the Illinois section in 1996, where it was rethemed and renamed Riverview Racer.
History[]
1983-1995: Aero Flyer[]
In 1983, the Aero Flyer opened in the England section of the park, in a spot behind Highland Fling.
1996-2010: Riverview Racer[]
In 1994, Aero Flyer was relocated to the Illinois section of the park, where it was renamed Riverview Racer to match its new placement in the Chicago-themed area. The name was on honor to Riverside Park, a defunct Chicagoland amusement park.
In late 2010, it was announced that Riverview Racer would be closed for a new, bigger swing ride, SkyScreamer.
