Serial Thriller was a Vekoma SLC at Six Flags AstroWorld. It was the last coaster to open at the park. The coaster replaced Excalibur, which closed in 1998.
History[]
This ride originally opened on May 29, 1999 at Six Flags AstroWorld under the name Serial Thriller. It replaced the popular Excalibur coaster. It was also the last coaster to be added to the park before its demolition. The ride closed along with the rest of the park at the end of the operating season on October 30, 2005. The ride was later put into storage at the Great Escape and laid there for four years until reopening at La Ronde in 2010 as Ednor-L'Attaque, which is "Ronde" spelled backwards.
Ride experience[]
Serial Thriller starts when the train climbs a 109.3 ft tall chain lift hill. At the top, riders drop to the left at a speed of 49.7 mph. They then enter a roll over inversion. This element is followed by a left banked hill and a sidewinder. After the sidewinder, the train then makes a right turn. Riders flip through a double in-line twist. Then, they go through a right turn and hit the final brake run.
