Serial Thriller was a Vekoma Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) that operated at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure in Aurora, Ohio. It featured five inversions and continued to operate under the name Thunderhawk when Cedar Fair purchased the park in 2004. When the park closed entirely in 2007, the coaster was relocated to Michigan's Adventure, where it currently operates under the same name.
History[]
When Premier Parks took over Funtime Inc., the owners of Geauga Lake, they were quick to add large scale attractions. Serial Thriller would open on May 9, 1998,[1] and operate on the marshland shore of Geauga Lake.[2] It was the Standard 689m variant of the Vekoma SLC.
When Geauga Lake was renamed "Six Flags Ohio," the ride retained the same name and color scheme. In 2004, when Cedar Fair bought the park from Six Flags, they renamed the ride Thunderhawk. The next year in 2005, it was repainted orange and yellow. The ride would continue to operate until the park closed entirely in 2007.
After the park closed, it was dismantled, and taken to Michigan's Adventure, a small Cedar Fair park in northern Michigan. It opened for the 2008 season with the same name, however the track was painted red, and the supports kept the same yellow color. Today, the ride continues to operate.
