Sidewinder Safari is a spinning roller coaster that opened at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on May 28, 2022. It is one of several new for 2020 rides that have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic beginning in March.
History[]
On August 29, 2019, it was announced that Sidewinder Safari would be coming to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The attraction was expected to open in 2020. However in April of that same year, all references to the ride were removed from the Six Flags website. It was thought that the opening was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In December 2021, the ride vehicles began to arrive at the park.
Vertical construction finally began in early 2022. The last piece of track was installed on April 8, 2022.
Sidewinder Safari opened on May 28, 2022, following a media preview the day before.
