Six Flags Atlantis was a Six Flags water park in Hollywood, Florida. It opened in 1983, and was sold off in 1989.
Post-sale, the property was permanently closed in 1992 after extensive damage by Hurricane Andrew.
History[]
Six Flags Atlantis was originally conceived as "Atlantis: The Water Kingdom" by a local developer, but he ran out of funds before the park's construction could be completed. For several years, it sat in a state of partial completion.
Bally Manufacturing, who was then the parent company of the Six Flags Corporation, purchased the park and opened it in 1983.
