- ―Slogan[src]Six Flags Darien Lake, also known as simply Darien Lake, is a Six Flags amusement park in Corfu, New York. The park opened in May 1981.
Darien Lake was previously owned by Six Flags from 1999 to 2006 but was then sold off to PARC Management in 2007 due to the company's growing financial issues.
Since 2018, Six Flags Darien Lake has been owned by EPR Properties and operated by Six Flags.
History[]
1964–1983: Darien Lake Fun Country[]
In 1954, the popular swimming location Darien Lake was excavated and filled.
Ten years later in 1964, Buffalo businessman and investor Paul Snyder acquired a 164-acre parcel of land bordering Darien Lake and opened a 23-site campground and picnic area.

1999–2007: Six Flags era[]
After the acquisition of Six Flags Theme Parks from Time Warner in April 1998, part of the deal with Time Warner was that some of Premier's owned properties would be rebranded as Six Flags parks. In 1999, Darien Lake was officially rebranded as Six Flags Darien Lake.
2007–2010: PARC Management era[]
In 2007, Six Flags Inc. began selling some of its parks as a cost-cutting measure as the company spiraled downwards due to immense debt that had been accumulated over the years. As part of this, Six Flags Darien Lake was sold to PARC Management.

On May 22, 2018, it was announced that Six Flags would be re-purchasing the park and operating it as a Six Flags park again starting in 2019.[1]
