It originally opened as "White Water" in 1981, and was known as "White Water Bay" prior to its transformation into "Hurricane Harbor" in 2020. It is the largest water park in Oklahoma.

History[]

White Water (1981-1991)[]

Built by Herschend Family Entertainment in 1981, White Water opened as both a waterpark and a mini-golf course.

White Water Bay (1991-2019)[]

White Water was sold to Premier Parks/Tierco in 1991. The company then changed the name to White Water Bay. The park was sold by Six Flags, Inc. to CNL Lifestyle Properties. The park was operated by PARC Management from 2007 to 2009, and then Premier Parks, LLC from 2010 to 2018. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation then took over park operations in 2018.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City (2020-)[]

On August 29, 2019, it was announced that White Water Bay would undergo a transformation and become Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Oklahoma City for the 2020 summer season. The featured attraction of the newly-transformed water park would be the new Wahoo Racer.[1]
