Six Flags México (or Six Flags Mexico or Six Flags Mexico City) is a Six Flags theme park located in Tlalpan, one of the 16 boroughs (demarcaciones territoriales) of Mexico City, Mexico. The park opened to the public on April 11, 2000, as the first Six Flags theme park outside of the United States.

Known as the "thrill capital of Mexico", the park’s numerous rides and attractions are spread across nine internationally-themed lands, or "villages"—DC Universe, France, Hollywood, Mexico, Polynesia/South Pacific, Switzerland and the Wild West, with the Looney Tunes-themed Bugs Bunny Boomtown and DC Super Friends areas primarily catering to children.

The park was renovated from the former Reino Aventura ("Adventure Kingdom") theme park, which operated from 1982 to 1999 before it was acquired by Premier Parks (the former parent-company of Six Flags Theme Parks).

History[]

In March 1999, Premier Parks, then the parent-company of Six Flags, announced the purchase of Reino Aventura for an estimated US $59 million (approx. $113 million in 2025).

After the acquisition, the former theme park underwent a renovation after their final 1999 season, with approximately $40 million spent on improvements and additions to the park. Six Flags México opened to the public on April 11, 2000.
