Steve Martindale (born 1957) was the Park President of Six Flags Over Texas from 2007 to 2020. He was succeeded by Ron McKenzie.

Biography[]

1973–1982: Six Flags Over Texas[]

Steve Martindale began his career at Six Flags in 1973, when he was hired to operated the Big Bend. He then worked as a full-time supervisor at the park while earning his business degree from the University of Texas.[1]

1983: Six Flags Atlantis[]

In 1983, Steve Martindale was moved to the newly-acquired and rebranded Six Flags Atlantis as the water park's operations manager.[1]

1984–1999: Six Flags St. Louis[]

Steve was moved again in 1984 to Six Flags Over Mid-America in Missouri, where he worked in the park's operations and security for 16 years. While at the park, he met Steve Calloway, who later became General Manager of Six Flags Over Texas.[1]

1999–2020: Six Flags Over Texas[]

In 1999, Steve Martindale returned to Six Flags Over Texas for the first time in almost two decades. He was brought back to the park by Steve Calloway, who chose him as Director of Operations because of his dedication to the job. In 2007, he became the new General Manager of the park, succeeding Calloway.[1]

In October 2020, Martindale retired as Park President and retired from the company altogether after 45 years. He was succeeded by Ron McKenzie.
