Kal-El AKA Superman is a DC Comics super hero created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He first appeared in Action Comics #1, which was released on April 18, 1938.
History[]
Superman first appeared at a theme park in the '60s, when he promoted Palisades Park in New Jersey. The Giant Coaster wooden coaster was branded the "Superman Giant Coaster" for awhile.
He wouldn't appear again until the '90s, when Time Warner bought Six Flags and began including the DC superheroes in the parks. Superman: The Escape was the first Six Flags ride to be themed to Superman.

Superman: Escape from Krypton, originally Superman: The Escape, is launched roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The ride has two cars that launch out of a station, up into a 415 foot tall tower. Although the original storyline from the ride involved escaping from the Fortress of Solitude after it was invaded by intruders, the rename seems to suggest the new storyline is about the famous plot point in the Superman mythos where baby Kal-El is sent to Earth in a rocket to escape the exploding Krypton.
