Superman: Ultimate Escape was an Intamin impulse coaster that operated at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. It opened in on May 5, 2000, and operated at the park until 2006, when it was removed and relocated by Cedar Fair to Dorney Park. It continues to operate under the name "Possessed".
When Six Flags announced they would re-brand Geauga Lake in Aurora, Ohio as "Six Flags Ohio" in 1999, they announced four new coasters for the 2000 season. Superman: Ultimate Escape would open as the first impulse coaster in North America. The coaster would send riders forwards and backwards at speeds up to 70 mph. The train would enter two 180 foot tall vertical spikes, one twisted, and the other straight. Each spike would have a drop of 165 feet.
When Cedar Fair acquired Six Flags Worlds of Adventure for the 2004 season, the ride had to be renamed. Cedar Fair did not own the rights to DC Comics, so they renamed the ride "Steel Venom" although the ride retained its red and blue paint scheme. The ride was removed after the 2006 season. So, two years after closing for good, it was moved to Dorney Park for the 2008 season.
Voodoo opened on May 17, 2008, where it had a new paint scheme of yellow paint and light blue/green supports. It was later renamed again as "Possessed" for the 2009 season, as Six Flags had claimed a trademark on the name Voodoo. The ride continues to operate today.
