Not to be confused with Fast Lane at legacy Cedar Fair parks. |
The Flash Pass, also known as the Go Fast Pass at some parks, is the virtual queue system of Six Flags theme parks. It debuted as Fast Lane in January 2002.[1] It is often themed with The Flash superhero character and is available for a separate fee from regular admission.
History[]
Tiers (2024-present)[]
Since March 2024, The Flash Pass reservation system can be accessed online, but requires the guest to have their own compatible device (such as a mobile phone). A scannable QR code will become available on the guest's device when a ride is ready to board; a notification can also be sent.[2]
- The Flash Pass Standard tier allows the guest to enjoy other attractions at the park while they are entered into a virtual queue that approximates the current wait at the line.
- The Flash Pass Premium tier is available at higher cost in limited quantities and cuts the wait time for rides in the virtual queue in half.
- The Flash Pass Ultimate tier is available at higher cost in limited quantities and cuts the wait time for rides in the virtual queue by 90%.
Holders of Prestige or Diamond Passes are entitled to make a Flash Pass reservation to "skip-the-line" during each visit to the park. Higher legacy tiers are entitled to make multiple reservations during each visit to the park.
Riders who don't have the time to wait in the virtual queue can purchase a "One Shot" Flash Pass that is immediately available by scanning the QR code on the sign posted at the ride of their choice, regardless of whether they have already purchased a Flash Pass tier.[3]
Tiers (2006-2024)[]
In 2006, the Fast Lane system was rebranded to "Flash Pass".[4] It introduced Q-bot mobile devices supplied by Lo-Q (later Accesso) to track ride status.[5][6] In 2019, the pager-like devices were replaced by smaller versions that could be worn on the wrist.[7]
- The Flash Pass Regular tier allowed the guest to enjoy other attractions at the park while they are entered into a virtual queue; a notification was sent when a ride became available.
- The Flash Pass Gold tier was available at higher cost in limited quantities and cut the wait time for rides in the virtual queue by 50%. A season-long Flash Pass Gold could also be bought and used all season long at the park of purchase.
- The Flash Pass Platinum tier was available at higher cost in limited quantities and cut the wait time for rides in the virtual queue by 90%. Six Flags also offered two different season-long Flash Pass platinum options: one that could be used every visit at the park of purchase, and one that allowed the pass holder to use it at any of the Six Flags parks.
Holders of legacy memberships at the Platinum tier or higher could visit a Flash Pass office to obtain a "skip-the-line" voucher for a major ride of their choice.[8]
