The Jester was one of only two Vekoma hurricane roller coaster at Six Flags New Orleans, located in Mardi Gras. It operated at the park from 2003 to 2005. It was relocated from Six Flags Fiesta Texas, where it was called Joker's Revenge. The park was closed after Hurricane Katrina and never reopened, and The Jester was SBNO (standing but not operating) until November 2024 when its remains were demolished.
History[]
In 2002, Six Flags took over the lease of Jazzland, and park was re-branded Six Flags New Orleans for the 2003 season. Before the 2003 season, the park opened a whole new selection of rides, including The Jester in the Mardi Gras section of the park. The coaster had previously operated as The Joker's Revenge at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. Hurricane Katrina devastated the park in 2005, causing the park to permanently close its doors. Overtime, the green paint began to peel off the coaster, revealing its former pink scheme that was leftover from its previous life as The Joker's Revenge. The remains of the ride were demolished in November 2024.[1]
