Twisted Cyclone is a wooden-steel hybrid roller coaster in the Coastal section at Six Flags Over Georgia. It opened on May 25, 2018, and is a Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) conversion of the former Georgia Cyclone.
History[]
On August 31, 2017, Six Flags Over Georgia announced Twisted Cyclone as the featured attraction for the park's 2018 season.[1]
The ride debuted on May 25, 2018. It was the first roller coaster to open at the park since Dare Devil Dive in 2011. Later that year, Six Flags made a few minor updates to Twisted Cyclone. These included scenery, lift hill signs and speakers that played a storm sound effect. Some scenery items included a raft, a canoe, barrels and buoys.
Ride experience[]
Riders can enter through a main entrance (for groups) or a single-rider entrance; a test seat is located between them so that riders can test whether they will fit within the seat restraints before waiting in line. The ride cars are styled to resemble classic American automobiles and contain a combination of seat belts and padded metal restraints that secure the rider's lower body to the car. After completing the ride, riders can exit the station through a ramp that leads them to Cyclone Supplies, a shop that sells ride photos and souvenir merchandise.
