Valleyfair, also known as Valleyfair & Soak City, is a Six Flags amusement and water park located in Shakopee, Minnesota.

History[]

Valleyfair opened on May 25, 1976. The park was conceived, built, and operated by businessmen Walt Wittmer and David Sherman, before the owners of Cedar Point acquired the park in 1978 as part of a plan to allow more capital for investments. In 1983, the owners founded Cedar Fair, named for Cedar Point and Valleyfair. In 2024, Valleyfair was added to the Six Flags portfolio following the merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags.
