The event debuted at the park for the 2016 season and was last held for the 2024 season.[2][3][4] No seasonal events have been scheduled for the 2025 season as California's Great America may be winding down operations as the end of their lease through Prologis approaches.[5] The Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has the option to extend the lease by 5 years when it ends in mid-2028. However, Prologis also has the right to terminate the lease as early as the end of June 2028, by giving the park 2-years' notice, from June 30, 2026 or later.[6]
With no new seasonal events scheduled at California's Great America for the foreseeable future, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (located about 68 miles away) has begun taking on some event names previously associated with California's Great America, such as renaming their long-running Holiday in the Park to WinterFest for the 2025 season.[7]
