Worlds of Fun, also known as Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun, is a theme park and entertainment complex located in Kansas City, Missouri. It opened on May 26, 1973 and was originally founded by businessmen Lamar Hunt and Jack Steadman. Divided into eight different themed sections primarily based on various real-world cultures and nations, Worlds of Fun is based on the Jules Verne novel Around the World in Eighty Days. It also includes the Oceans of Fun water park, Since July 1, 2024, the park is owned and operated by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. Originally, the park was owned by Lamar Hunt's company Mid-America Enterprises, and in 1995 it was sold to Cedar Fair.
