Not to be confused with Zydeco Zinger, the flat ride at Six Flags New Orleans. |
Zydeco Scream was a shuttle roller coaster located in the Pontchartrain Beach area of Six Flags New Orleans.
History[]
The coaster was a Vekoma Boomerang model that originally operated at Parque de Atracciones de Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain from 1990 to 1998.[1] It was moved to Jazzland in New Orleans, Louisiana, where it opened as "Zydeco Scream" on June 10, 2000. The park was acquired by Six Flags and became Six Flags New Orleans for the 2003 season, though the ride kept its name. Zydeco Scream was closed with the park on August 21, 2005 due to Hurricane Katrina. Because of the extensive damage caused by seawater, the park was not re-opened and the coaster was abandoned until being demolished in late 2024.[2]
